Fred Williams: Infinite Horizons extended
Fred Williams: Infinite Horizons has been extended to 5 August 2012.

“Make no mistake: the Fred Williams exhibition at Federation Square is a national occasion, not just the parochial story of the grand return of one of Melbourne's most favoured sons. Williams belongs to that small group of major artists who changed the consciousness of a country and its culture. A change of consciousness means that the artist makes you see the world differently, gives you a new feeling for the environment and leaves you with a more profound understanding of your landscape, the place and space in which you exist.”

Read Patrick McCaughey's full story, Fred Williams comes home in triumph, in The Melbourne Review.

Brent Harris The Light in Winter

Australian contemporary artist Brent Harris is known for haunting imagery that drifts between abstraction and figuration. This exhibition looks at the development of his unique visual language over a career of more than twenty years.

From 1 June – 1 July Federation Square brings together local and international artists, designers, architects, filmmakers and multicultural groups for The Light in Winter - a month-long series of light sculptures, talks, events, workshops and a vibrant schools program. Directed by Robyn Archer AO, this year's program draws inspiration from the National Year of Reading and celebrates the way that reading enlightens us.
