It's been over a year since we announced that Christopher Fulham, Wade Marynowsky, Jess MacNeil and Katie Turnbull are the artists we selected for our Experimenta Commissions program. We're extremely pleased with the progress of all four artists and their artworks, which have been taking shape over these last twelve months. We're excited to share the debut of their works at RMIT Gallery for Experimenta Speak to Me, 5th International Biennial of Media Art. Don't forget to save the opening 14 September 2012 in the diary! Experimenta Speak to Me will run from 14 September - 17 November 2012

|BROKEN HILL: DESERT EQUINOX CALL FOR PROPOSALS |
Desert Equinox have announced a submission call out for moving image art works that will be screened in September 2012 as part of the solar art exhibition Desert Equinox in Broken Hill, NSW. All artworks of the exhibition will be solar powered, including the screening of the video works. Desert Equinox is looking for any genre including experimental, narrative, animation and documentary videos of maximum 20 minutes duration relating to the theme of 'the sun' in its broadest sense.

|MELBOURNE: PLATFORM ARTISTS GROUP ACCEPTING PROPOSALS |
Platform Artists Group are now accepting proposals for projects beginning in 2013. Founded in 1990 Platform is Melbourne's longest-running Artist-Run Initiative and on-going public art project. Platform offers an annual program of exhibitions at three sites in Campbell Arcade, linking Degraves Street to Flinders Street Station in Melbourne's CBD. Presenting a program of exhibitions and events in public contexts, Platform endeavours to reflect the diversity of contemporary art practices and support emerging through to established artists.

|TOWNSVILLE: SCREENGRAB INTERNATIONAL NEW MEDIA ARTS AWARD OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS |
Screengrab is now entering its fourth year with an international call out for the AUD$5000 New Media Arts Prize and the companion exhibition in August 2012 for short listed applicants. Screengrab invites digital practitioners working in screen based media to submit works on the theme of CONTROL. All forms of screen based media are encouraged, including multi-channel video, digital illustration, audio sculpture, photography, generative media, 2D and 3D animation.

|MELBOURNE: LIGHT WORKS AT NGV INTERNATIONAL
Light Works draws from the NGV Collection, artists including Mike and Doug Starn, David Stephenson, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Bill Henson, who use the emotive potential and scientific capacities of light in their creative explorations of the world. Works included range from photograms (camera-less images); large scale installations and digital light-based technologies.
