6th Premio Lorenzo Bonaldi per l'Arte – EnterPrize:
The Log-O-Rithmic
28 September 2012–20 January 2013

Curators: Fredi Fischli and Niels Olsen
Artists: Uri Aran, Karl Holmqvist, Kaspar Müller, Ken Okiishi, Oliver Payne, Emanuel Rossetti, Anicka Yi

The Premio Lorenzo Bonaldi per l'Arte – EnterPrize, now in its 6th year, is the only one of its kind: its aim is to search out talented curators under the age of 30 and to mount the winner's proposed exhibition.

This award was presented for the first time in 2003 by the GAMeC with the support of the Bonaldi family as a result of the family's wish to commemorate Lorenzo Bonaldi's passion for art and collecting. Its purpose is to draw attention to the importance of the curator in the international art field and to encourage and support the talent of a young curator at an extremely dynamic moment of his or her professional career. The idea behind this prize was to create not a competitive situation, but an opportunity for professional growth and comparison. This is why, in 2005, the idea arose to accompany the awards ceremony with a biennial convention, Qui. Enter Atlas – International Symposium of Emerging Curators.

The Log-O-Rithmic exhibition is the outcome of the winning project of the Swiss freelance curator Fredi Fischli, chosen at GAMeC in November 2011 by an international panel. It takes the ephemeral work The Log-O-Rithmic Slide Rule by the architects Trix and Robert Haussmann as a starting point. As a playful device based on a bureaucratic principle, it offers a combinatory potential that creates infinite varieties of imaginative architecture, language and images. Seven contemporary artists have been invited to activate the experimental device and reprocess it for their own specific purpose.
