The program The Interactive Art Research Master is a
two-year program focusing on interactive art, and is for students, artists,
and scientists looking to establish a shared theory and practice. This
unique program brings together the Humanities, Art, and the Digital
Sciences and was founded in 2009, thanks to a partnership between the
European School of Visual Arts and the University of Poitiers. This latter
is responsible for teaching part of the theory program and for the
methodological framework.
The program aims to develop an
original ideology of technology and science in the field of art. The
teaching involves theory classes, practical courses, and workshops led by
internationally renowned artists. The program also aims to foster the
autonomy of the students in matters relating to the development of artistic
concepts, the production of material or immaterial systems, as well as the
formulation of artistic issues.
Entry requirements Entry to the Master's Program is open to students with: - an
undergraduate degree of at least three years from a school of visual arts
(DNAP - Visual Arts Degree, Bachelor's Degree level) - an
undergraduate degree of at least three years from a university (Bachelor's
Degree or equivalent degree) - the program is also open to individuals
with an equivalent professional experience (upon approval by the
University's Commissions Board)
The second year of the Master's
Program (M2) is open to those students whose application has been approved
by the Commissions Board and following a successful interview with the
teaching team.
Classes take place at the University of Poitiers
campus and at the European School of Visual Arts (Ecole Européenne
Supérieure de l'Image) in Poitiers and Angoulême.
Classes are taught through French, although English is frequently
used.
